FRACK!

Some time has passed and we have become a little more TV wiser. Well, I guess we’re ALWAYS getting TV wiser since we are ALWAYS watching more TV. Or are we getting TV dumber? Mmmmm…...

Let’s start off with my MAIN reason for living this week:

(THE FINAL) BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (no spoilers, I promise)
Oh, what can I say that hasn’t already been said on sci-fi message boards across the universe? Well, I will say this… at first, I was somewhat disappointed. The first half of the two-hour finale was incredible. Amazing action and “loose-end” tie ups that made the writers of LOST cower and shake in a corner somewhere. I stood up several times CURSING Charter Communications for not offering my Sci-Fi Channel in HD! How dare they! BUT, the second half left me scratching my head in some parts. No! Don’t say that! That’s stupid! No! Don’t make THIS be the last thing I see you do! No! PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ME THINK THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS TO HER!!!! THEN, a really cool final 3 minutes.
I woke up the next day and watched it again. And, believe it or not, I loved it. All of it. The whole series was a work of art and I’m jealous of all the people who haven’t seen it yet.

KINGS
So there’s this new show, starring the guy who was an arrogant bad ass on Deadwood, called Kings. NOW, that guy takes on the challenge of playing an arrogant badass WITHOUT a mustache. Can he do it? Maybe the scores of gorgeous people surrounding him will help.
The series opener? Kinda cool at times…AND totally LAME at times. The butterflies as a crown on the dude’s head as the closing scene!? Nothing like a final image to leave you questioning whether or not to watch episode 2. I guess I will. If it happens again, I’m gonna pull an early “Heroes.”

CELEBRITY APPRENTICE
Done-ski! Two episodes in and I’m OUT! Especially since the Dice-man was the first to go! (Did I really just write that?) (Why don’t I delete it?)

MESSAGE TO ALL REALITY SHOWS:
WHEN COMING BACK FROM A COMMERCIAL BREAK….WE DO NOT NEED TO RE-WATCH THE LAST TEN MINUTES WE JUST SAW BEFORE THE COMMERCIAL BREAK!!!!!! WE REMEMBER!!!!!

AH! Only one episode to go!? Went…[shivers]….so…[sniff]….fast….[faint].

AMERICAN IDOL
Okay, who’s gone? The Puerto Rican kid (not a surprise)…the cute African-American girl (kinda a surprise…I thought she’d go a bit further)…[HANG ON, I NEED TO TAKE A BREAK FROM WRITING THIS…my Lean Cuisine is beeping ]

…Rican kid (not a surprise)…the cute African-American girl (kinda a surprise…I thought she’d go a bit further)…and the tiny blond girl with the purple in her head (boooooring.) Let’s just 4x’s fast forward to the end when it’s between the blind guy, the widower and Depeche Mode guy.

BIG LOVE
Okay, we’re up to 17. 17 phone calls that have been hung up with no one saying some form of “good-bye.” With one episode left to go, I have to admit I was hoping that number would be higher. 20 was the goal. I guess 3 IS doable.

LOST
Is it just me, or is this show actually…kinda good again? I think it’s because we aren’t being flung around from group to group…from this part of the island to that part of the island…from this time to that time (sort of). Not that there isn’t still a billion more questions…WHERE’S CLAIRE? Hello? BERNARD?
